My boyfriend and I went, were out of state but we are DEFINITELY coming back! It was absolutely amazing! Best food I’ve ever had and that’s not an exaggeration. I had pulled pork with Mac n cheese and he had brisket with fries, absolutely amazing food! Definitely recommend to anyone! 3/1/25

Had the bestie 2 combo with Mac and cracker, and potato salad. Brisket and pork. Oh and popover. Tons of food. Price was reasonable. Monday late afternoon so no crowd. Our server was super nice Enjoyed it very much. Be sure to try all 4 sauces, each unique. The have street parking and a lot as well.

Good was fantastic! The best that we have had in the USA trip. Joanna was amazing, very helpful, friendly. Helped us to make choices and did not disappoint, highly recommend. Oh, and notice board with so many useful tips, particularly for seniors made the visit more special.

Fabulous St Louis Ribs, best kale salad, creamed corn, and topped with light crispy bread. French fries were tops!

Lots of BBQ options in St. Louis. Don’t pass up SaltSmoke. I’ve eaten at the St Charles location and now the Delmar Loop location. Got the 2-Meat Bestie combo (pulled pork and ribs (4 rib bones)). The ribs are St Louis style and were fall-off-the-bone good. The pulled pork was moist and tender. Paired the meats with two sides: the beef fat fries and cream corn. Both were delicious. The plates come with a bacon and cheddar popover. It was ok, but compared to everything else on the plate - it was the worst thing on the plate.Sauce selection is adequate. Sauces are typical BBQ joint sauces (a sweet, a heat, a Carolina style). They don’t put the sauce on the meat (never eat at a BBQ joint where the sauce is already added - they are trying to cover something up).Restaurant is not huge, so if you have a large party you may have to wait. Good atmosphere, only thing is our table was in the direct airflow of the HVAC, so a little windy.

Fantastic experience! You can truly tell the pitmaster has a deep passion for what she does and makes sure the food matches that. From the cocktails to the plates, everything was absolutely delicious. Worth every minute of the 45 minutes it took us to get to the Loop to have dinner.

Food was tasty. Great taste. Served was a bit bothered and it showed but she served everything timely. We ordered the ravioli and it was good too. Some food items were cold. Other than that food was great. This location has reconstruction in the front so not appealing but once inside can’t notice.

BBQ Heaven in University City!Salt Smoke in University City, MO absolutely blew me away! I was in town for real estate work and decided to treat myself—and wow, am I glad I did. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the ribs were packed with flavor, and don’t even get me started on the white cheddar cracker mac... it was next-level comfort food.The vibe was fun, laid-back, and welcoming, and the service was spot-on. Our server made great recommendations and made sure everything was perfect. As someone who travels a lot for work, finding a local gem like this is a big win. If you’re in the St. Louis area and love good BBQ, Salt Smoke in U City is a must-visit.
